Hereford United, then of the Southern League, defeat the mighty Newcastle United of the First Division 2-1 in an epic FA Cup 3rd Round Replay at Edgar Street, Hereford. Hereford’s first goal/equaliser, the famous ‘Ronnie Radford Rocket’, was subsequently voted BBC Goal of the Season for 1971/72
